Under the Humane Slaughter and Animal Welfare, Frigol adopts protocols and best practices during the preslaughter and slaughter stages, to ensure a high-quality and safe end product.

The company strictly follows the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), the STEPS Program of the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), and the Farm Animal Welfare Committee (FAWC).

Thinking about suppliers, we developed the Frigol Farm Program, in which every company partner can participate.
The program aims to advise suppliers on:

Non-utilization of antibiotics and animal growth hormones

Animal food

Vegetation, soil and water preservation

Best animal care practices

Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition



Freedom from pain, injury and disease

Freedom from discomfort

Freedom to express normal behavior

Sustainable Guideline Policy

Sustainability is at the center of Frigol’s strategy, and its operations are conducted based on the strictest sustainability processes, from animal origin and slaughter to the delivery of end products to consumers.

Through its Sustainable Origination Policy, Frigol aims to establish criteria to acquire animals for slaughter and fattening, considering socio-environmental requirements. Operations are based on the following pillars:

Effectively protecting the company as it gets exposed to environmental risks

Proactively and continually managing environmental risks related to animals raised and destined for slaughter and fattening

Analyzing operational risks based on internal policies

Adjusting the objectives of the teams in charge of the company’s risk management process

Periodically assessing policy effectiveness together with the People and Sustainability Committee, and the Board of Directors
