August 20, 2026 – FriGol, one of Brazil’s leading and most established beef processors, has once again achieved 100% compliance with the criteria established by the Carne Legal Conduct Adjustment Agreement (TAC), in an audit supervised by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) in Pará. This is the fourth consecutive time the company has achieved this result.

The assessment covered cattle purchased by FriGol from direct suppliers in 2023 and 2024. The analysis confirmed that the animals came from properties that do not produce in areas affected by illegal deforestation, Indigenous lands or conservation units, and that the suppliers are not included on the list of organizations involved in slave labor.

The audit process was based on Animal Transit Guides (GTAs) for cattle originating from the Amazon biome and slaughtered at FriGol’s facilities in São Félix do Xingu and Água Azul do Norte, Pará.

This is the seventh cycle of audits conducted by the MPF in Pará and the third unified cycle covering the cattle industry’s economic chain in the Legal Amazon, conducted according to the same criteria across all states in the region.

“The result demonstrates the consistency of our work in monitoring direct suppliers, which began in 2017. Our main challenge now, however, is to expand this control to indirect suppliers. We have been making progress on this front through the use of technologies and initiatives that enable us to expand traceability and compliance throughout the supply chain. Our goal is to continuously improve this process, contributing to an increasingly monitored and responsible supply chain,” says Carlos Corrêa, Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer.

Advances in monitoring indirect suppliers

Monitoring indirect suppliers at all levels of the supply chain is one of the sector’s main challenges. FriGol has set a target of achieving 100% monitoring by 2030, using the same protocols applied to direct suppliers, across all biomes and all production facilities.

As part of this commitment, the company brought forward to 2025 its target of mitigating deforestation among Tier 1 indirect suppliers. In Pará, monitoring of 100% of these suppliers began in 2023, using technologies such as the Visipec system (NWF Brasil), which cross-references information from the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) with the public database of Animal Transit Guides (GTAs). In 2025, the compliance rate reached 93%.

FriGol also works together with public authorities, industry institutions and the production chain to contribute to the advancement of monitoring protocols.

The company is aligned with the guidelines of Sarb 26 issued by Febraban and has been disclosing its compliance results since 2023.

In addition, FriGol supports private initiatives focused on the individual monitoring of cattle. Since 2024, the company has participated in the Individual Traceability and Indirect Supplier Monitoring Program (Primi), which seeks to ensure socio-environmental compliance from the animal’s birth through to slaughter. The company’s suppliers have already joined the protocol, which has also been implemented in FriGol’s feedlot programs.

In 2025, the company expanded its efforts in this area with the launch of FriGol Farm, a program that supports cattle ranchers in monitoring their suppliers and provides assistance with commercial requalification and land tenure regularization.

Monitoring across all biomes

FriGol’s socio-environmental monitoring efforts cover all biomes in which the company operates and are not limited to the state of Pará. The company monitors 100% of its direct suppliers across all these biomes.

As part of this effort, FriGol was the first company in the sector to implement, in July 2023, the Voluntary Monitoring Protocol for Cattle Suppliers in the Cerrado, even before the protocol was officially published. The final protocol was published in April 2024 and was subsequently adopted by other companies in the sector. The initiative is coordinated by Proforest, Imaflora and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
